What I’m Loving: Bold Watches

It’s no secret that I love bold, oversized accessories. The way I see it, if it doesn’t make a statement, then what’s the point? One of my most-loved accessories are watches, and I don’t go a day without wearing one!

Here are a few of my favorites at the moment:

Runway - Gold

You can’t go wrong with this classic Michael Kors watch. It’s a bit of an investment, but I’ve had mine for years and it’s held up so well with daily use!

Another classic, this Kate Spade watch is a bit smaller and lighter than the Michael Kors watch above.

This Timex watch is such a classic piece, but the leopard print band gives it just enough edge.

I couldn’t do a post on bold watches without including one by La Mer. This watch is a total arm party all by itself and definitely makes a statement!

Are you a watch lover like me? Which one is your favorite??

My Favorite Holiday Cocktail

Although technically Christmas may be over, I can still feel the holiday spirit in the air. Plus, with New Year’s Eve just around the corner, there’s still plenty to celebrate!

So to keep the holiday spirit going, I thought I’d share my favorite holiday cocktail–the Red Rooster–with all of you. My mom and I make this recipe every year around this time and it’s definitely a tradition I look forward to!

You can find the original recipe right here, but I like to jazz it up just a bit. For this recipe you will need:

1 1/2 quarts of cranberry juice (I usually use a low sugar version)

1 can of frozen orange juice concentrate (You can use a little bit more for some extra zippity pow!)

2 cups of vodka (Or, you know, you can use a little more depending on how your day is going)

Bourbon (This is one way I jazz up the recipe–I find it adds a little extra flavor and you can add as            much or as little as you like)

     Lime/Key Lime juice

Once you’ve gotten all of your ingredients together, combine them in a plastic container (preferably one with a lid). Pop it in the freezer for a few hours, or until it reaches a slushy consistency. Keep in mind that the more alcohol you add, the slushier it will be. You can also make this recipe sans alcohol, but it was been a little more frozen.

Serve in festive glasses with the garnish of your choice–I’m partial to a lime. You may also squeeze some lime or key lime juice on top for extra flavor.

Wednesday Words: Christmas Edition

I hope you are all having a joyous Christmas filled with love, laughter, and time with family and friends. Although Christmas can be a pretty hectic day, try to take a moment to reflect on the good things and be thankful for what you have!

And if you’re not exactly in the holiday spirit today (we’ve all been there!), I highly recommend watching one of my favorite Christmas movies right here.

Merry Christmas!!!

Product Review: Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad

Wow…I have been a terrible blogger lately. But sometimes, you just need a break to rest and get re-motivated! This post will be a review of the Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad in Bronzed Beauty that I mentioned in this post. I’ve been using it almost every day and I absolutely love it. If you’re looking for some new shadows–or even a last minute Christmas gift–read on!

As a huuuuuge fan of neutral eye shadows, the first thing about this palette that caught my eye was the beautiful bronze and gold colors. This quad features a light mocha color, a beautiful bronze shadow, a dark brown, and a glitter gold shadow.

The second thing about this quad that caught my eye was the price. And not in a good way. For a product carried by Target, the $13 price tag was a little shocking. However, I got over the sticker shock, and I’ve found these shadows to be very versatile and well worth the money.

My favorite color in the quad has to be the bronze color. It looks gorgeous all over the lid but can also be used as a crease color or on your lower lash line. The dark brown looks amazing as a liner, and the light mocha color looks good on its own or as a base shadow.

The one shadow I don’t use very often is the glittery gold one. While I love anything gold, I’m not sure wearing gold glitter on my eyes is the best look–no matter what my middle school self thinks! I have used it from time to time for special occasions, but I wish they would have replaced that shadow with a champagne colored highlighter.

All in all, I am very pleased with this product. The eye shadows allow you to create many looks that will take you from day to night, and the fact that they are all packaged in a sleek quad is very convenient. I highly recommend this product as a gift for the makeup lover in your life–or even as a treat for yourself!

November Favorites!

Happy Decemeber! My favorite month is finally here and I couldn’t be more excited. In case you were wondering, December is my favorite month because all of my favorite holidays (my birthday, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve) are in it–I’m looking forward to celebrating all month long!

Now that the best month ever is officially underway, it’s time to talk about some of my favorite things from last month:

Tory Burch Kiernan Riding BootsIf you saw this post, you know I recently splurged on a gorgeous pair of riding boots. I’ve been searching for the perfect pair of tall boots for a couple of years, and I stumbled upon these a couple months ago. After they went on major sale (and after I found a coupon, of course), I purchased them and I don’t regret it one bit! If you’re looking for a high quality pair of boots, give these a try. They are definitely worth the money!

Rebecca Minkoff Mini 5 Zip Bag in TawnyLike my Tory Burch boots, I picked this little bag up on sale and with a coupon. It’s a great everyday bag with tons of pockets inside so I always know where my things are. I’m officially obsessed with Rebecca Minkoff bags now and I highly recommend this one. If you want to see it in action, check out the YouTube video I made about it!

up & up Dual Treatment MoisturizerI picked this up at Target because I wanted something to help with a few breakouts. I’ve been using it during the day and I really like it! I feel like it helps control the oil and breakouts on my face, and it doesn’t dry out my skin.

Sonia Kashuk Eye Shadow Quad in Bronzed Beauty: I first saw this on Pinterest, but the cost kind of turned me off. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about the gorgeous colors so I broke down and purchased it. I’m so glad I did! I’ve used these eye shadows almost every day and they are great for creating so many looks. The top two colors work well as base and crease colors, the darkest shade makes a great liner, and the gold glitter is so fun for a night out!

Benefit’s Sun Beam: I love Benefit products and I received this one in a Benefit gift set at Sephora–which you know I had a coupon for! It’s a great golden-toned highlighter and I especially love the brush applicator. I use it on the tops of my cheekbones, my brow bones, and even on my Cupid’s bow from time to time. It really adds a little something special to my look!
