Product Review: Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat

orly-bonder-rubberized-basecoatIf you’re a nail polish junkie like me, you’re probably always looking for ways to extend your mani. Lately I’ve noticed my polish doesn’t last as long as (I think) it should. So I was very excited when I hear about Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat. I picked it up at CVS for about $7 (with a coupon) and although that’s not what I would call cheap, I think it’s a great investment.

When you first apply this base coat, it feels a little tacky but don’t worry–go ahead and apply your usual polish and top coat. A week after painting my nails, I started to notice only a few chips which is amazing considering most of my previous manicures only lasted a few days before the chips started.

So if you’re looking for a way to get a little more milage out of your manicure, you need this product in your life! And if any of you have other tips for extending your manicure, please please share them with me in the Comments section!

Spring Style Inspiration

Being stuck inside since Tuesday due to a snowstorm has given me a lot of time to think. And what did I find myself thinking about most often? Clothes, obviously. More specifically, clothes for that one season I always hope for but that seems to take forever to arrive: spring.

So, I did what any girl would do: browsed Pinterest for a little warm weather fashion inspiration. Below are a few lovely looks I found:

February Birchbox

This month, in honor of awards season, Birchbox partnered with Us Weekly to reveal all kinds of red carpet secrets. As someone who cares a lot more about watching the red carpet than the actual awards shows, I’m very excited about this. I can’t wait to see what this partnership has in store for the month of February!

Here’s what I got in my Birchbox:

Paula’s Choice RESIST Ultra-Light Super Antioxidant Concentrate Serum: This is an anti-aging serum that claims to tighten pores, fight lines and wrinkles, and soothe skin. I’m not sure I’ll be able to see those results from just one sample, but it can’t hurt!

SARAHPOTEMPA The HALF-UP: This spongey little tool is used to create different hairstyles like a top knot or low bun. While I’m not one to wear my hair up a lot, this will probably come in handy over the summer while at the beach or pool.

W3LL PEOPLE Universalist Multi-Use Color Stick in Dusty Rose: This beautiful rosy pink makeup stick is multi-purpose. You can use it on your eyes, lips, and cheeks–who doesn’t love that? It’s definitely the perfect color for spring and I’m so excited to use it!

Whish Three Whishes Body Butter: This body butter by Whish is packed with antioxidants to soften and smooth skin. It smells great and is the perfect way to treat skin during the cold winter months.

Harney & Sons Fine Teas in Paris and White Vanilla Grapefruit: I’ve definitely turned into a tea junkie so I was very excited to see this in my Birchbox. The Paris flavor is a fruity black tea while the White Vanilla Grapefruit flavor is a white tea.

What I’m Loving: Mirrored Sunnies

There are few things I love more than cozying up under the covers on a chilly winter day. Lately though, I’ve been dreaming of the warm days of summer. One of my favorite summer accessories has to be sunglasses, and I can’t stop thinking about the mirrored ones I’ve seen posted all over the blogosphere.

Here are a few pairs I’m loving at the moment:

You can’t go wrong with a  pair of classic Ray-Ban aviators

How fun are these bold Le Specs sunnies??

Europe Shots

It’s official: I’m baaaack! In case you missed it, I spent the last 2 1/2 weeks traveling around Italy and France with my mom and cousin. And while I had an incredible time, I am very happy to be back home in the good ol’ USA!

I don’t want to do a long winded post about every little thing I did, so I thought I would just share a few of my favorite Instagram pictures that I took along the way.
