What I’m Loving: Mint

No, not the color! I’ve been having a serious love affair lately with all things mint flavored and scented. So today, as I sit here with my mint scented mask on (more on that later), I’m sharing a few of my current favorite mint products.
1. Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask: I’ve heard amazing things about this mask for a while, and finally was able to pick it up. First of all, the price is amazing–it’s such a steal! Second of all, it smells ridiculously minty and awesome. I haven’t been using it for very long, but I definitely think it’s helped clean out my pores and make my skin look more even and smooth.

2. Sleepytime Herbal Tea by Celestial Seasonings: Every now and then I have a really hard time falling asleep. I’ve started drinking this tea most nights as I get ready for bed and I really enjoy it. I’m not sure if it actually makes me sleepy, but the chamomile and spearmint flavors definitely help me relax and unwind before diving under the covers!

3. Orbit White gum in Spearmint: If you know me, you know I always have this gum on me. I buy it in bulk, and I can’t help it–I’m obsessed. I’m very particular about the gum I chew and this has been my go-to for quite a long time. It’s nice and minty and it even claims to whiten your teeth. Who doesn’t love that?

If you happen to share my mint flavored/scented obsession, please let me know in the Comments section what your favorite mint item is so that we can be obsessed and weird together!

Product Review: Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

71748982105So in my last post I mentioned how busy I’ve been and I definitely intended to blog more regularly.

And then Orange is the New Black happened…

Needless to say, I’ve been hunkered down watching that as much as possible and haven’t had much time for anything else. However, I finally made it though the whole season and I  thought I would finally sit down and write a short review about a new product I’ve been using.

I’ve been wanting to try Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso for a while, and when I spotted it in CVS a couple weeks ago I finally decided to take the plunge. This blush is a gorgeous peach shade with just a hint of shimmer in it.

Lately I’ve been wearing rosier blush shades, but this one is great for the summer time. It gives your cheeks a natural, sun-kissed flush that pairs well with a tan. I’d say it’s pretty pigmented so start out with just a light dusting of color–you can always build it up! Plus the fact that it’s a natural-looking blush means it works well with lots of different makeup looks.

All in all, if you’re looking to try a new blush for summertime, I highly suggest Milani’s Baked Blush in Luminoso! I’m definitely a fan and can’t wait to try out more colors from this line.

If you’ve tried this or any of the other Baked Blushes by Milani, let me know in the Comments section!

May Favorites

Raise your hand if you’ve been a terrible blogger lately (pretend you can see me and pretend I just raised my hand)! If you saw my last post, then you know I recently moved and I am finally starting to feel settled in.

Needless to say, I’ve been pretty busy lately dealing with the stress of moving and haven’t found much motivation/inspiration to blog lately. However, a new month starts tomorrow which can only mean one thing: it’s time to share my favorites of the past month! So, in no particular order, here’s what I was loving during the month of May:

1. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage SPF 15 Foundation: I’ve used this foundation off and on for a while now. I recently decided to start using it again and I’m OBSESSED! It lasts all day and does a pretty decent job of controlling shine throughout the day. Plus the coverage is awesome without looking like you’ve caked makeup on your face.

2. I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara by Essence: When I picked this up from Ulta, I wasn’t sure how I would like it. I’ve been disappointed by mascaras lately, but I actually like this one! It gives good volume without any major clumping. I’ve still got a few other mascaras I want to try, but I’m sure I’ll be picking this one up again…plus the packaging is right up my alley!

3. Tieks: It’s no secret that I love a good ballet flat. I’ve been having a love affair with Tieks ballet flats for quite a while now and that doesn’t seem to be letting up any time soon. I’ve worn these shoes quite a bit lately for work and play and I don’t have anything negative to say about them! If you’re looking to invest in a good, comfortable, cute flat, I highly recommend picking up some Tieks!

4. Printed Shorts by Mossimo Supply Co.: I’ve been wearing the heck out these shorts from Target (I have the black and white ones) and I’m not even ashamed to admit it. They’re so comfortable and are ridiculously cute with a tank top, sandals, and even a lightweight sweater for cooler nights. They may look and feel a little bit like pajamas, but you can totally wear them out of the house–which just adds to their awesomeness!

What have you guys been loving the last month? Let me know so I can try it out in June!
