eats.

2b60b75c366d21b5f45b949f0faece99So as much as I love makeup and clothes, there’s something else I’m extremely passionate about: FOOD. Yup, I absolutely love to eat, try new dishes and share those experiences with the people in my life.

For that reason, I’ve decided to add a new section to my blog that will be all about food, drinks and other culinary-related things. I’ll be sharing recipes I love, foodie pictures, and dishes I want to try. Stay tuned!

January Favorites

Is it just me or did we just finish ringing in 2015? I can’t believe the month of January is almost over and that we’ll be rolling into February in no time! Annnnyway, below is the list of super amazing products I was loving this past month:

IMG_8149

1. L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder Makeup: I know I talked about another foundation in my 2014 Beauty Favorites and this wasn’t it. I still love that foundation, but I rediscovered this little guy and have been using the heck out of it lately. It’s great for when I don’t need a crazy amount of coverage (this one offers light-medium coverage) and when my skin is behaving. If you haven’t checked this foundation out yet, I highly recommend it! You can get a few more of my thoughts on this product riiiiiiiight here.

2. Lorac PRO Palette: So there’s a chance I’ve gone a teensy bit eye shadow crazy this month. I picked up an amazing Charlotte TIlbury quad, the Lorac PRO Palette, and may have just ordered the new Lorac Unzipped Gold palette. I purchased the Lorac PRO Palette on a whim and am totally obsessed with it. It’s got such a great mixture of shades (shimmer and matte) so it’s ridiculously easy to make any look you want. The shadows are easy to blend and offer great pigmentation.

3. CoverGirl Full Lash Bloom mascara: If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you may know that I’m always on a bit of a quest to find the perfect mascara. I’ve tried out several new (to me) high end and drugstore mascaras and I’ve finally found one I really love! Not only is the packaging of this new CoverGirl mascara extremely adorable, the product is nice too. It doesn’t clump on me so I can easily apply several coats to really build up the volume. It’s a little tricky to apply to my lower lashes (I prefer this mascara for that), but I love it so much that that doesn’t even bother me!

4. Bioderma: This was my souvenir from my last trip to Paris and I didn’t fully appreciate it until recently. It makes removing my eye makeup a breeze and now I can’t imagine my skin care routine without it! It’s not available in the US (except on Amazon) but plenty of drugstore brands are coming out with their own versions.–you know, in case you don’t feel like crossing the Atlantic to get your own bottle.

5. Slip-on sneakers: I finally jumped on the slip-on sneaks trend when I found a crazy awesome black pair at Gap Factory. They have a slight texture/pattern to them and are so comfortable that I’ve started planning outfits around them. If you haven’t picked up your own pair yet, you should probably get to it! I’ve linked a similar pair here, but you can pretty much find them anywhere!

Share your January Favorites with me in the Comments section–maybe I’ll try them out during February!

Style Crush: Kendall Jenner

Lately it seems that Kendall Jenner is all over place. And before you roll your eyes…she’s technically not a Kardashian (I can’t stand them either).

Whether she’s walking the runway, starring in an amazing ad for Estee Lauder, or just strolling around town, Kendall always looks effortlessly put together and I’m allllll about that.

She rocks basics like no other and manages to make her outfits look interesting even when she’s only wearing plain ol’ black and white.

Check out some of my favorite Kendall looks below:

Where I’ve Been

As I mentioned in this post, I’ve done a good bit of traveling around the country the last few months (if you want to check out some of my international adventures, go ahead and click here and here).

Below are a few of my favorite photos from my trips to New Orleans, Atlanta, Orlando, and San Francisco.

What I’m Loving: Blanket Scarves

If you’ve seen me or my Snapchats at all in the past couple of months, then today’s post should come as no surprise. I’m totally and completely obsessed with blanket scarves and I don’t even care who knows it.

image1xlIt all started with this beautiful scarf–cue the angel choir in the background. Since I wasn’t one of the lucky few to get my hands on the coveted Zara tartan scarf (the ASOS one to the right is also pretty awesome), I picked this one up and I couldn’t be happier. Why is this scarf sooo amazing you ask? Well…

1. Its plaid pattern includes nearly every color imaginable so it goes with everything but still manages to act as a neutral when paired with any print. Try it with stripes–you won’t be sorry!

2. This scarf is warm and cozy and definitely lives up to its name as “blanket scarf.” It’s perfect to travel with since you can snuggle up with it in case you get the chills.

3. The price. You can’t beat a style statement like this one that also keeps you toasty warm for under $20.

2014 Beauty Favorites

As your calendar has probably told you by now, 2014 is a distant memory and 2015 is here and ready to paaaarrrtyyy! However, I’ve still got a few things from 2014 on the brain including a few of my favorite products. Read on to see what I was loving throughout 2014…

Face

s1393370-main-heroTarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation: Foundations come and go, but if I had to choose just one to use, it would be this one from Tarte. It offers amazing coverage but doesn’t leave you looking like you’ve piled on pounds of makeup. It’s not cheap but it’s definitely worth the investment! If you’re looking for a more affordable foundation, you can see my two drugstore favorites here and here.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer: I re-discovered this gem in 2014 and I don’t know what I did for so long without it! First of all, it’s ridiculously affordable. It also offers great coverage without creasing and is a breeze to apply.

Eyes

L’Oreal Infallible 24 Hour Eye Shadow in Amber Rush: Just look at this swatch. Need I say more? This color is absolutely gorgeous and it lasts and lasts without creasing. Another brilliant drugstore find!

Nyx Studio Liquid Liner in Coffee: I’ve sung the praises of this liquid liner before and I don’t see myself falling out of love with it any time soon. The skinny brush applicator makes it easy to use and the color is so unique and complements any look I’m going for.

Lips

ChapStick: For day to day, I tend to keep things pretty boring basic simple and stick to plain ol’ Chapstick. It’s low maintenance and I don’t have to worry about it wearing off on the numerous cups of coffee/tea/water I consume in a day. However, when I’m feeling fancy, I reach for…

Stila Lip Glaze: This has everything I need in a lip gloss: it lasts a long time, it’s easy to apply, and the color selection is beautiful. What’s not to love?

Skin

cetaphil-oil-control-moisturizerCetaphil DermaControl Oil Control Moisturizer: This might be my favorite find from 2014. This moisturizer from Cetaphil is lightweight so it’s perfect for oily skin, but it packs an SPF of 30 and I’m totally obsessed.

Tools

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: I’ll be honest, I can’t stand applying my foundation with a sponge. I left that technique behind in my middle school days, but this applicator from Real Techniques has become my go-to for blending out my under eye concealer. If you want to try out a Beauty Blender-like product but don’t want to make the monetary investment, I definitely recommend this one!

BH Cosmetics Duo Fiber Stippling Brush: Where has this brush been all my life? It’s nothing special but I love using it after applying bronzer and blush to blend everything together. Plus, it’s a bargain!

So now that I’ve officially closed the book on my favorite products of 2014, I’m ready to start 2015 and hopefully discover a few more favorites. In fact, I may have already found some. Stay tuned!

Hello, Again!

fdad9b7b3abc67c620ca8fb0de99ed2332cdcf6917f11dc4b53b483aaf984343Well, well, well…this is a little awkward. Or is it just me? It’s probably just me. Anyway, it’s been a ridiculously long time since I’ve checked in on my cute lil’ blog here and I just thought I’d give you all a quick update (is anyone is even reading this?).

Lots and lots and lots of things have been happening in the past few months and I definitely took a very, very long break from blogging.

However, I’ve decided that I miss it and, honestly, I need something to do with my free time other than binge-watching Gilmore Girls and snacking.

So what have I been up to? Well, let’s see…I’ve moved into my own big girl apartment, done a fair bit of traveling, and just tried to find myself. I’m still working on that last one, but hey, a girl’s gotta take her time getting it together sometimes, amirite?

Anyway, just wanted to pop on here and say hey and be on the look out for some posts coming your way soon!
