February Favorites

Well we’re not quite done with February yet, but there are a few products I was loving this month that I want to share with all of you!

e.l.f. Studio High Definition Translucent Powder: I was recently on the hunt for a new powder and picked this one up after hearing good reviews about it. It’s very finely milled and it controls shine for most of the day. The only thing I don’t like about this powder is the packaging–it’s extremely messy and frustrating! I’m willing to put up with it though because the product is so great!

NYX HD Photogenic Concealer: I used to think I was a cream concealer kinda gal but this liquid concealer from NYX may have converted me. It has great coverage, lasts all day, and is so affordable!

Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser: I’ve used this face wash for a couple months and I really like it. It’s not meant for everyday use so if you have sensitive skin, be careful at first.  I use it every other day and I think it has really helped my skin stay clear.

Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Dust of Bronze: Nail polish is one of my favorite things and this color is awesome. It’s a neutral that’s been kicked up a notch and I can’t get enough of it. I might even be wearing it as I type this sentence.

Secret Agent Beauty Lip Gloss in Foreign Intelligence Flirt: This little gloss was in my Birchbox a while ago and I have been using the heck out of it this month. It’s a great “your lips but better” shade and the shine and color last for quite a while.

Tell me what products you’ve been loving lately so I can try them too!

LORAC Pro Palette Dupe?!

I’ve raved about the LORAC Pro Palette on this blog before, but it wasn’t until recently that I realized how similar it was to another palette I also own. This other palette also happens to be much, much cheaper than the covetable LORAC one.

Which palette am I talking about you ask?

Why, it’s none other than the It’s Judy Time Palette from BH Cosmetics (bottom palette in the hastily taken photo below)!

I’ve had the It’s Judy Time Palette for a few months and it’s so great. The shadow pigmentation is awesome and they blend out very easily. While there may not be quite as many color options as the LORAC Pro, there are definitely enough matte and shimmer shades to create many different looks.

Now I’m not saying the It’s Judy Time palette is an exact replica of the LORAC one, but it’s definitely on the right track. It’s got plenty of similar shades, and if you’re looking for an affordable, high quality palette, I highly reccomend giving the It’s Judy Time Palette a go! Let me know if the Comments section if you’ve tried it!

Recipe Alert: Bacon, Egg and Cheese Cups

There’s nothing I love more than waking up in the morning (ok, or afternoon!) and treating myself to a delicious breakfast–eggs, bacon, coffee, etc. So when I stumbled across this amazing recipe from Fat Girl Trapped in a Skinny Body on Pinterest recently, I knew my life would be forever changed for the better.

This recipe combines three of my favorite foods (eggs, bacon, and cheese) and it’s ridiculously easy to make. You’ll need a muffin tin, 12 slices of bacon (thick cut bacon worked best for me), 8 eggs, 1/2 cup of shredded cheese (the original recipe calls for cheddar but I used mozzarella and parmesan) and a pinch of salt and pepper. Feel free to kick things up a bit with some garlic powder, basil or even red pepper flakes.

First, you’ll want to preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, wrap each piece of bacon around the inside of your muffin tin cups. Don’t forget to spray your muffin tin first!

Then, beat the eggs, cheese, and spices just like you would if you were making scrambled eggs.

Carefully pour the egg mixture into each bacon-wrapped cup. I filled mine up about halfway. Once all your bacon cups are full, pop the muffin tin into the oven for about 35 minutes or until the eggs are fully cooked.

These are best served fresh, but feel free to refrigerate any leftovers for later. This also makes a great on-the-go breakfast!

P.S. You can make this recipe healthier by using only egg whites, adding veggies, omitting the cheese/bacon, etc.!

Lust List + 100th Post!

Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner (and since my one true love right now is makeup), it’s only appropriate that today’s post is about the products I’m currently lusting over.

e.l.f. High Definition Undereye Setting Powder: I recently started using the e.l.f. High Definition Translucent Powder, and this Undereye Setting Powder is next on my list to try!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate: Let’s face it, we’re not getting any younger and I’m all about preventative skin care. I’ve been loving facial oils lately and I’ve heard this elixir is a great one!

Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: I’m on a never-ending quest for the perfect eye cream. This is one that looks promising without breaking the bank! And it doesn’t hurt that I’m constantly craving guacamole…

Unite Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner: I’ve been wanting to step up my hair care game and this shampoo and conditioner duo might be just the thing.

Charlotte Tilbury FIlmstar Bronze and Glow: The packaging of this highlighter and bronzer set is so gorgeous. And the product inside looks to be just as gorgeous!

Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm: I’m a sucker for lip products of any kind and this one is so luxurious!

“Bitch Please” Necklace: What can I say? This necklace is the perfect accessory for the sassy cynic. AKA me.

What are you currently lusting over? Have you tried any of these products? Tell me in the Comments section so I can lust over them too!

Side note: This is officially my 100th post on That Tall Girl and I just want to give a quick thank you to all of you reading this now. Thank you SO much for all the kind words, support, and motivation. You are the reason I keep coming back to blog! XO!

Home Details

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you are all having a great weekend. The weather here has been so amazing and I’ve definitely tried to get out and enjoy it while I can!

Although it’s nice to get out, sometimes I just want to curl up at home and be lazy. Today on That Tall Girl, I’m sharing a few of my favorite details from my apartment. This apartment is the first time I’ve had an entire place of my own to decorate so it was a really fun, special experience.

I’m not a fan of color, so most of my apartment is pretty neutral with pops of metallic and different prints to keep things interesting.

unnamedA little motivation never hurt. And yes, that is a pumpkin.

Product Review: LORAC Unzipped Gold Palette

As I mentioned in my January Favorites post, I’ve gone a little eye shadow crazy the past couple of months. When I saw pictures of the new LORAC Unzipped Gold Palette, I knew I had to have it! It finally arrived on my doorstep this week and I’ve had so much fun playing with it and I’ve definitely spent a fair amount of time just staring at all the beautiful colors (don’t judge).

As the name implies, this palette features ten golden hued shadows (see hastily taken photo above). There are six shimmer shades and four mattes so you can easily create any look. The shadows are pretty pigmented so if you’re not a shimmer shadow lover like me, you may want to pass on this palette.

My favorite shades (so far!) are Unlocked (a gorgeous golden, champagne shade that makes for a beautiful highlight), Unleashed (it’s bronze and shimmery sooo what else do I need to say?), and Unpredictable (peachy, shimmery, yas).

All in all, this is a great palette to have. If you’re a neutral/gold shadow lover like I am, you really can’t go wrong!

If you have this palette, let me know what you think about it in the Comments!
