Lust List

Now that “No Spending July and August” is wrapping up, I’ve been thinking about the products I would like to try out once I’m allowed to indulge in my love of shopping for makeup.

The following are a few of the products I hope to eventually check out. What’s on your Lust List?

Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Makeup—I did a full review of this product right here, and I still can’t stop thinking about it. I think once I’ve made more of a dent in my current foundation collection I’ll treat myself to a bottle.

Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes 5 Star Mascara—While I’m still absolutely obsessed with Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, this one has been on my mind for a while. I’ve seen lots of good reviews on the product and the packaging is so glamourous!

Everything by Besty Pittard Designs—I’ve fallen hard for this designer’s line of jewelry. The pieces are gorgeous and have a hint of boho flair which is easy to incorporate into my everyday wardrobe.

L’Oreal Revitalift Triple Power Concentrated Serum—I’ve been really trying to step up my skin care game lately and based on what I’ve heard, this drugstore serum seems like magic in a bottle.

What I’m Loving: Minimal Makeup

While this is a blog mostly dedicated to makeup and beauty products, I have to say I’ve been really loving a minimal makeup look. Not only is it nice to wear less makeup during the steamy days of summer, wearing less makeup allows me to get ready in a flash.

Below are a few minimal makeup looks I’ve been loving lately. What’s your go-to makeup look right now?

Product Review: Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita

First I loved it.

Then I wasn’t so sure.

Now I’m back to getting butterflies every time I use a certain product.

Which product you may ask? Well it’s none other than the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Palette in The Dolce Vita.

Now, I know this is quite a pricey product. I think that’s part of why I fell out of love with it for a while. However, the shadows are buttery and blendable and the varied shades in the palette allow you to create so many different looks.

The highlight shade is subtly shimmery and looks amazing as an upper brow bone highlight or as a cheekbone highlight (yes, strobing has been a recent favorite). The darker bronze shade is definitely my favorite. It’s an amazing lid color that’s easy to smoke out for a more dramatic look when needed.

If you’re going for the drama, the next two shades are made for you. The chunkier glitter shade is perfect for a night out. Pop some in the middle of your eye lid or go a little crazy and put it all over the lid–I won’t judge you! The last color is great for placing in the crease and is a lovely transition color.

All in all, this palette is a major win. The quality of the shadows can’t be beat and you can create so many beautiful looks with this palette. If you can spare the cash and want to treat yourself to a luxurious product, look no further!

P.S. Charlotte Tilbury does a great tutorial using this palette—check it out here!

July Favorites

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying the last few weeks of summer before the craziness of fall kicks in. Between work, dog-sitting, “No Spending” July and August and buying my dream car (!!!), I haven’t had much time or reason to blog. However, there were a few things I loved in July. Keep on reading to see what I was into!

  1. Maybelline Dream Bronze BB Cream: I haven’t actually used this on its own—that kind of scares me to be honest! I use it to make my current foundations darker to keep up with the summer tan I’ve recently acquired now that I drive a convertible. It blends in really well with all of my foundations and it’s very affordable!
  2. Strobing: So is this actually that different from highlighting? Anyway, I’m totally into looking nice and glowy and have been using powder and liquid highlighters to achieve this look. Some of my favorite highlighters to use are mentioned here and here.
  3. White Converse: I picked up some white Converse sneaks before a trip a few months ago and wasn’t sure if I could pull them off. However, now I can’t get enough of them. I wear them with everything from jeans to shorts to rompers. I can’t wait to continue wearing them into fall!
