Is it just me or did the month of May completely fly by? Now that summer is officially here, I’m looking forward to warmer temperatures and soaking up some sun.

If you want to know what products I’ve been loving the past month just keep reading! Don’t forget to tell me what you’ve been loving in the Comments section.

1.Glossier Boy Brow – If you saw my Glossier review (and this post about my trip to the Glossier showroom) then this favorite is no surprise. Boy Brow is one of those rare products that’s quick and easy to use and actually delivers on its promise of giving you enviable brows. I have the shade Brown but it also comes in Blond, Black and Clear.

2. Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation—After hearing rave reviews on this foundation, I finally picked one up and there’s definitely a reason this foundation has amassed so many positive reviews. It gives full coverage but doesn’t look heavy, it has great staying power, and it’s completely affordable.

3. Glossier Cloud Paint in Dusk—Are we surprised that another Glossier product made it into my May Favorites? This cream blush is another gem I picked up during my trip to the Glossier showroom and I can’t stop using it. It blends easily into the skin and the color is a beautiful bronzey, mauvey shade that works with any look. Needless to say, I’m completely obsessed with it.

4. Vans Sk8-Hi Slim Cutout DX shoes—Let’s get one thing straight—when it comes to fashion, I’m all about comfort. When I’m running around the city, the last thing I want to be worried about is whether my footwear is comfortable. These high-top Vans are super comfy and they work with any outfit. If you’re looking for a good summer sneaker, I highly recommend picking up a pair of Vans!

Vacation Haul!

Oh hey! I’ve been up since 4:00 this morning traveling home from Chicago. I had a great vacation there (stay tuned for more on that) and of course ended up doing some shopping. Read on for a quick haul of the beauty and fashion items I picked up.

Merona striped top: You know I had to check out Target while I was in a new city. I picked up this cute shirt and can’t wait to pair it with jeans, boots, and a cozy scarf!

Sam & Libby Peyton Ankle Boots: Also from Target, these boots will be a fall staple. They’re super comfy and a good neutral color.

Teal Flask: Call me crazy, but I’ve been wanting a cute flask for a while. I spotted this one at Neiman Marcus Last Call and knew it was the one!

Travel size dry shampoo: Dry shampoo is a major staple for me so I couldn’t resist picking up another travel size one. This one by Tresemmé isn’t my favorite, but it’s all I could find in the travel section.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow in Bad to the Bronze: I’ve heard such great things about this cream shadow and was thrilled to finally find it in stock somewhere. Because I definitely needed more eye shadow. Nope…

NYX Studio Liquid Liner in Extreme Coffee: This is my favorite liquid liner and I haven’t been able to find it anywhere near me. I happened across it at Nordstrom Rack and picked up a couple tubes!

Stila Sun Goddess Smudge Stick Duo eye liner: I love buying Stila liners at Nordstrom Rack. They’re my favorite liners and you can find great deals on them. This pack comes with a blackish brown color and a metallic golden bronze.

White and gold druzy necklace: I’m so in love with this long necklace from Nordstrom Rack. I wore it every day while on vacation and it goes perfectly with any outfit.

July Favorites

Happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying the last few weeks of summer before the craziness of fall kicks in. Between work, dog-sitting, “No Spending” July and August and buying my dream car (!!!), I haven’t had much time or reason to blog. However, there were a few things I loved in July. Keep on reading to see what I was into!

  1. Maybelline Dream Bronze BB Cream: I haven’t actually used this on its own—that kind of scares me to be honest! I use it to make my current foundations darker to keep up with the summer tan I’ve recently acquired now that I drive a convertible. It blends in really well with all of my foundations and it’s very affordable!
  2. Strobing: So is this actually that different from highlighting? Anyway, I’m totally into looking nice and glowy and have been using powder and liquid highlighters to achieve this look. Some of my favorite highlighters to use are mentioned here and here.
  3. White Converse: I picked up some white Converse sneaks before a trip a few months ago and wasn’t sure if I could pull them off. However, now I can’t get enough of them. I wear them with everything from jeans to shorts to rompers. I can’t wait to continue wearing them into fall!

Lust List

Call it “spring fever,” but lately I’ve had a few things on my mind that I just can’t seem to shake. Here’s what I can’t get off the brain:

s1573336-main-heroUrban Decay Naked 3–I know I would get SO much use out of this. Plus it’s prettyyyyy…

emilie-wallet1Louis Vuitton Wallet–The pop of green on this wallet makes me so darn happy!

A trip to an exotic locale–I’m dying to explore Asia, Morocco, Bali, Australia, etc., etc.

New kicks–I’ve been dying for a new pair of sneaks for the warm weather. These colorful Nikes are super cool!

Boot Love

Once the weather starts to cool down, I pretty much live in my boots. Because of that, the pair I’ve been wearing for several years has finally started showing a good bit of wear and tear.

I’ve been searching for nice, leather riding boots for a very long time. I think I finally found the ones:

I scored these lovely Tory Burch Kiernan boots on sale, but they are still quite an investment. However, if you’re going to splurge on a pair of boots, these should be the ones! They are made of beautiful leather, have a fully functioning zipper, and the gold logo on the side is a unique feature. These will definitely make the cold winter months much more enjoyable!

What I’m Loving: Riding Boots

While the temperature down here in the South may still be in the 80s, I can feel a bit of fall in the air. And although the leaves haven’t begun to change yet, I’m eagerly anticipating the cooler weather so I can wear one of my favorite fall staples: riding boots!

One reason I love boots so much is because they seem to pull any outfit together. They work with jeans, leggings, dresses, skirts, etc. etc. and can transform even the most basic outfit into something polished.

Below are a few of my favorite boots at the moment. What are yours?

Frye Dorado Riding Boot (P.S. Check these out here for a bit of a discount!)

Steve Madden Shawny Boot (I just ordered these and they are so comfy!)

Volatile Whistler Boot (Love the unexpected navy color!)

Merona Kasia Riding Boot (a good knock-off of the Frye Melissa Button Boot)

What I’m Loving: Tieks

If you know me, you know I love a good shoe. And now that the steamy days of summer are (for the most part) behind us, I’ve happily broken out my non-sandal footwear and rediscovered my favorites: Tieks ballet flats!

Available in almost every color imaginable (and even a print or two!) these versatile shoes literally work with everything in my wardrobe. They’re a bit of a splurge I’ll admit, but I treated myself to the Camel pair (at left) and the Cardinal Red pair (below) last Christmas and I haven’t regretted it one bit! By the way I used a coupon Tieks posted on their Facebook page so go “Like” them and keep an eye out for deals…also check out this post for more tips to score deals online.

My favorite thing about Tieks? They’re just so darn COMFORTABLE! As someone who is literally on her feet  all day (oh the joys of working retail :P ) I can put them on first thing in the morning and I’m still going strong when it’s time to clock out and head home.

As I mentioned, they really do go with everything! At work, I pair them with skinny black pants and a flowy top, then I can throw on some jeans and an army jacket for weekend wear, and then pair them with a dress for a dinner out.

The possibilities really are endless. And each pair has Tieks’ signature robin’s egg blue sole which brightens up even the dullest of outfits (for a fun look, I like to match the blue color to a sweater or shirt…it makes the color pop even more).

And if I haven’t raved about my Tieks enough, I just love the company! When my Tieks arrived I found a handwritten, personalized note from them thanking me for my purchase and wishing me well. When is the last time a company did that for you? How about never?! I tweeted Tieks right away saying how pleased I was and they actually responded.

And guess what? I still have the note they sent! How’s that for customer loyalty?

So if you’re looking for some cute, comfortable shoes that will work with everything in your closet, do yourself a favor and get a pair (or two!) of Tieks. Oh and in case you’re wondering, my next pair will be these Leopard Print beauties…I guess I better start saving!

My Top Three (Affordable) Shoes for Fall

If you know me at all, you know I love shopping for great, affordable pieces. What you may not know is that I’m a shoe addict. For me, comfort is key, and I’ve definitely kept that in mind while updating my shoe wardrobe for fall.

So here are my top three affordable (and comfortable!) gotta-have shoes for fall. And they’re all from one of my favorite stores EVER: Target. (Seriously, I’ve been there three times in the last three days and I’m probably going there tomorrow. Support group anyone?)

1.  Oxfords

These cute, comfy oxfords are an excellent twist on the menswear trend…the twist being the cute pink sole! They’re the perfect balance of masculine and feminine–and to play up your femininity, pair it with a floaty dress or skirt. I’ll probably be wearing mine with skinny black pants and sweaters to work this fall.

2. Ankle booties

These shoes are all over the place…and I’m not complaining! I’ve been lusting after my own pair to wear with skinny jeans this fall, and I found just the right pair at Target (at the right price!). I’ll also consider wearing these beauties with dresses when I’m feeling a bit bold!

3. Moccasins

Now these aren’t your typical Pocahontas-inspired, fringey, beaded moccasins. They’re a bit more polished and modern which makes them very versatile. They’re also so comfortable and I’m looking forward to wearing them with casual pieces like jeans, tees, and cardigans. To dress things up a bit, I’ll pair some bold jewelry with them to make things more interesting.

I’m sure these won’t be the only three pairs of shoes I purchase for fall, but they’re a great start. Now all I need to do is sit back and wait for the leaves to start falling!
